Patient Information

Before Your Surgery:
You will receive a call from a Heartland Surgery Center nurse prior to the day of surgery. The nurse will review your medical history and current medications and answer any questions that you may have. In order to prepare you for your surgery we need you to come in earlier than your scheduled surgery time. We will let you know when to arrive. Please anticipate that your surgical procedure will consume the entire day. Your care and safety is our ultimate priority. We require that patients are accompanied by an adult age 19 or older who can drive you home and stay with you for at least 24 hours after your procedure. If your child is having surgery, at least one parent must remain in the facility at all times.

After Your Surgery:
You will be monitored closely by our nursing staff. You will be discharged when you are ready to go home. It is not uncommon to feel weak and drowsy. Therefore it is important to have someone with you to help you with your post operative care. It is very important that you follow the instructions carefully. If you have any questions after your procedure, please call Heartland Surgery Center (308-865-2670) or your physician, (their telephone number is included in the discharge instructions).
